The NFL Championship games have officially wrapped up with the Philidelphia Eagles dominating the San Fransico 49ers, and the Kansas City Chiefs barely getting passed the Cincinnati Bengals. While some people believe bad calls by the refs decided these games, both games came down to how each team performed, and ultimately both teams that made it deserved to make it. However was this the best possible outcome for the most entertaining Superbowl?

What Could Eagles VS. Chiefs Be?

The biggest thing this game could offer that the others couldn’t is that these teams can go blow for blow offensively. These are the league’s two top-scoring offenses throughout the whole year and both teams have average defenses, so the score could go extremely high this game. Along with that, we get to see the top to MVP candidates face off against each other, while one will already have won the MVP, they will be fighting for the ultimate goal in football, a Superbowl title, and a potential Superbowl MVP. So while some may think the NFL rigged for this matchup, both of these teams have shown why they deserve to be here and will provide a great Superbowl.

What Could Eagles VS. Bengals Have Been?

This game would have still been a great offensive match-up with how many weapons the Bengals have, but it would’ve had a little more defensive resistance from, both teams. The Eagles likely would’ve been able to pull away fairly easily though, due to the injuries the Bengals have on the offensive line. We all saw Joe Burrow get sacked four times in the first quarter last night against the Chiefs’ defense which had 15 fewer sacks this season than the Eagles did. So while this still would’ve been a good game, the Eagles likely would’ve been able to take it away easily due to their pass rush.

What Could Chiefs VS. 49ers Have Been?

This game would’ve had a chance to be great since it would have been a rematch of one of the best Superbowls in recent memory, and it would have been a match of one of the league’s top offenses against the league’s top defense. In Superbowl 54, the Chiefs and 49ers faced off in an extremely close match-up, where the 49ers pulled away until the fourth quarter where they blew a ten-point lead and gave up 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. This game likely would’ve been an easy Chiefs win due to Brock purdy and Josh Johnson being injured, so even if their defense got stops the offense likely would’ve barely scored.

What Could Bengals Vs. 49ers Have Been?

This likely would’ve been the worst possible matchup of them all, due to the 49ers would’ve been able to do nothing offensively and the Bengals would probably struggle against the 49ers’ defense. We saw how broken the 49ers’ offense was when Purdy was no longer able to throw the football, McCaffrey could not do it all by himself and it seemed Purdy wasn’t able to throw the ball at all. Also when under pressure yesterday, we saw Burrow make some bad decisions that lead to interceptions or drive-ending incompletions, so the 49ers’ defense would’ve been able to maximize that.  So while the good offense against good defense could’ve made a good game, it likely would’ve been a snooze fest.

Is Eagles Vs. Chiefs The Best Possible Match-Up?

Just based on speculation, this is likely the best match-up we could’ve had due to the high-powered offenses of both teams, and both teams still have decent defenses. There is no telling who will win this game, the Eagles will have to make sure to get to Patrick Mahomes and abuse the youth in the Cheifs’ secondary. While the Chiefs will have to try to stop the Eagles’ pass rush and make sure to use the middle of the field to their advantage.
