My College Football Playoff Rankings For Week Nine 2022

The College Football Playoffs are only a few weeks away now and the top teams are starting to show. There are many teams this year that are worthy to be in the Playoffs, but only the top four can make it. So what teams are in and what teams are barely out as of now? Let’s see who’s in and who’s currently the first two out as of now.

One- Tennesee Volunteers

Tennesee has been nothing short of dominant all year against all kinds of competition. Their greatest accomplishment has obviously been beating Alabama for the first time in 15 years by three points. They have blown out almost any non-ranked team they have faced and even some ranked teams, including number 19 Kentucky by 38 points. Tennessee’s defense has been spectacular this season, being able to hold almost any offense to a minimal amount of points in order for the offense to outscore the opposing team. On top of all of that Hendon Hooker is leading Tennesee’s offense to be one of the best in college football and is the clear frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy. So as of now, they are the clear best team in college football.

Two- Georgia Bulldogs

Georgia has stayed one of the top teams in college football, but they have shown some weakness throughout the year. They still have one of, if not the best defense in all of college football, only allowing 10.5 points per game. Their offense is still one of the best in all of college football but has taken a bit of a step back from last year. Even with a few scares against Missouri and Kent State, they are still the second-best team so far this season.

Three- Ohio State Buckeyes

Ohio State has been one of the best offensive teams in all of college football, scoring 48.9 points per game this season. Their defense, while still decent, has allowed 16.9 points this year, when they’ve one decent team this season so far. C.J. Stroud has been playing great football this season, having thrown 2377 yards this season along with 29 touchdowns and four interceptions. They have one of the most dynamic receivers in all of college football in Marvin Harrison Jr. who has been the main focal point of their offense. While they’ve played great all year, they almost lost to Penn State last week, who hasn’t been great, so that’s the only thing holding them from being number two.

Four- Michigan Wolverines

Michigan has been one of the most well-rounded teams in all of college football and has one of the best rushing attacks in all of college. Their defense has been outstanding all season only allowing 11.5 points per game. Their offense is also near the top, scoring 41 points per game and rushing for 246 yards per game. They have one of the top Heisman candidates in Blake Corum along with Donovan Edwards and J.J. McCarthy to lead this dominant rushing attack that most can’t stop. Without the scare against Maryland, they might be even higher on this list, but due to that, and the dominance of these other teams, they fall to the last spot in the playoffs

First Two Out- Clemson Tigers

                     TCU Horned Frogs

Both of these teams have been playing great football all year, but they both have big question marks on their team. Clemson has a middle of the pack offense and defense, no big strength on their team but also no big weakness either. While TCU has a good offense but a terrible defense on the year. Both teams have had scares against worse teams but have prevailed in all of them. If the teams ahead of them hadn’t been so dominant, then they could both be in the playoffs.
